It has been a tremendous year for us (give or take a few months). The birth of our son was a most amazing gift, as was building our first home. We've been busy, to say the least...
We'll be taking a break from blogging as we say goodbye to dear Charleston and move closer to our families. Birmingham or bust!
If you'd like to keep up with us, feel free to find us on Facebook!
Hugs and kisses,

El Nino
(New favorite perch...after I removed the books and other things in my way...)

(Charming the socks off my Mums...)
(Barbeque...good.)
(Daydreaming of an outdoor escape...)
Mum and Pops have started calling me "El Nino". See, when they were in Costa Rica a few months back, they learned that the Ticos (Costa Ricans) use this phrase for little boys. They say it fits me perfectly because I'm a little monster of a boy, ferocious and curious and playful and perfectly charming.Oh my, they have no idea what's in store, do they?!

Mum and Dat-ty took me on a field trip this weekend to Boone Hall Plantation for a big fiesta they called "Taste of Charleston". We needed a lot of gear for this outing...chairs and frisbee and football and toys and thank goodness for my Red Radio Flyer! It really comes in handy...Whew, it was hot...I certainly enjoyed the comforts of my cool blue stroller...a nice way to take in the sights....
Pretty soon, I'd had it with the heat...talked Aunt Carter into removing my shirt for me...
So much to taste! Dat-ty brought me barbeque and macaroni and cornbread. My Southern soul was so happy...
I did my best to entertain on a full belly...
Epicurean wishes,

Remembering - 12 months
Can you believe I've grown this much?! One year old and going strong...
Thought I'd show you some of my favorite things...
BATHTIME! Oh yes, I love getting a nice, warm bath every night after my dinner (Mum says I need a power washer when I'm finished with supper, but I'm not sure what she means).
I'm learning to count 1-2-3 in the tub and I have three rubber duckies that like to swim with me. By the way, my first word (other than Dat-ty and Mum-ma ) was duck!
Truth be told, I really love being in the water, whether it's in the tub or in my cool pool outside...you may be asking yourself, "Why does he look so uncomfortable in this picture?" Well, if somebody put you in a bright yellow puddle in the middle of yard NAKED and then started taking pictures, well...I think you can understand my uneasiness...
My hair is really growing, and so is my personality. One of my favorite expressions is "But I'm too cute to make you mad..." I pull it off, don't you think?
Another few favorite things are to hang out with my folks and to eat!! I'm a real multitasker, because even as I chomp and chew, I'm entertaining everybody around me.
This picture was taken at a King St. eatery and I had a table of 5 College of Charleston girls giggling and cooing...easy, girls...Mum's my leading lady.
(Yawn)...cruising is another favorite...whether it's in my blue stroller...

Remembering - 11 months
So it's been a while since Mum's gotten around to posting shockingly adorable photos of me. Give the gal a break...she's been busy chasing after me , working hard, playing frisbee with pops, taking international adventures (and leaving me behind...pout)...if only you knew how many pictures my folks take of me. I could see how it might get overwhelming.
After many requests from all my adoring fans, I mentioned to Mum that maybe she post some highlights from the "archives"...hopefully, she'll keep it up and we'll get back on track again. I know you are all extremely anxious to see how much I'm growing!!
Enjoy...more to come, we promise!

Okay, really...who's the coolest kid you see?

First day on the Beach...
Mid-May, 2009
It should be noted that whenever I go out, I do it in style.
(I make it look easy, don't I?)(pause for a little air keyboard)
Pops and I treated Mum to a day at Folly Beach for her birthday, but really all eyes were on me.
After some yummy hours at Taco Boy, we headed to the water.after I recovered from my initial "cold feet", I wasted no time diving right in and searching for crunchy shells to eat.
Soon after Pops took this photo, a big wave knocked me over and, in their haste to save me from the fit that insued, the camera fell into the salty water and did not make it out alive.
Here we are resting and reflecting the magnificent day...and praying for a new camera to document all my adorable encounters...
Stay tuned...
